The Houston Alumni Schools Committee (ASC) works closely with the Yale Office of Undergraduate Admissions to help select and recruit incoming freshman each year.

The Houston ASC coordinates the following activities:

• Interviewing the approximately 220 Houston area applicants to Yale every year, and submitting an interview report to New Haven for the candidate's file

• Actively recruiting admitted students both over the phone and at a local reception

• Representing Yale at area college nights and citywide Yale nights

• A social "mixer" prior to the start of the academic year for current Yale students from the Houston area and incoming freshman
