Library Book Sorting, March 10th, 2012, West End Branch of Carnegie Library

All is set for this event, which will run from 9am until 5pm, at the redistribution site behind the West End branch of the Carnegie Library, 47 Wabash Street. Participants may arrive whenever they like, and stay for as long as they like.  Because turnout in 2011 was light, Dale urged board members to participate and promote the event to others.  Participation will count towards the club’s Yale Day of Service total.

AYA Listening Session, March 14th:  AYA Board President Mike Madison will host an informal “listening session” at his home in Mt. Lebanon on Wed., March 14th, as part of the AYA’s long-term strategic planning.  Unlike the strategic planning session that took place in Sept. 2010 for YCOP board members, this event will be open to all area alumni. AYA Board Officer Otto Chu will co-host.

Freud’s Last Session, March 16th:  Jack Thomas, YC 1980, chairman of the Yale Alumni Fund, and producer of the Off-Broadway hit, “Freud’s Last Session,” will join the YCOP for a cocktail  reception and performance of his show at the Pgh Public Theater.  The play concerns an imagined meeting between the aging, atheistic analyst Freud, and the young Christian theologian C.S. Lewis, “in a battle of brains and wit over God.”  Discounted tickets and refreshments will be arranged by Jeff & Sandy, as per “Gammage Project.”

Annual Dinner, May 3rd:   Save the date!

Day of Service, May 12th: The YCOP plans to participate once again the Produce to People distribution on the 12th, and may also develop a project with the YMCA of Homewood.
