YAANW's Alumni Schools Committee

The Yale Alumni Schools Committee of the Twin Cities is responsible for encouraging prospective high school students who appear competitive in the admissions process to apply to Yale. In addition, the Committee is charged with conducting interviews of students who have completed their applications. Finally, after a student has been accepted, the committee becomes a resource available to those deciding on where they will spend their undergraduate years.

Judge Tony Leung is the chairperson of the Minneapolis Alumni Schools Committee. Malcolm McDonald handles St. Paul, and Bill Opsahl covers the Duluth area.

Several local alumni, among them Kate Sandweiss, Conley Brooks, and Bob Sidenberg, conduct interviews. The Schools Committees are always in need of additional alumni interviewers. Interviewers will meet with and issue written recommendations for two to four applicants. If you would like to volunteer, or know of someone who would, please contact Judge Leung at (612) 348-3802 or e-mail TNLeung@mnd.uscourts.gov. Please leave the name, address, telephone number and graduate class of the volunteer.
