What? - The Yale Club of Japan brings
together Yale alumni residing and stopping by in Japan to meet one another
and maintain their connection with the University.
How? -
The Club organizes one or two
events per month, such as guest speakers, seminars with visiting Yale
professors, concerts with touring Yale a capella groups, the Yale Bar Review series, wine tastings, and screenings of The Game.
Through the Alumni Schools
Committee, the Club also facilitates the alumni interviews for
prospective students applying to Yale College from Japan.
A newsletter is sent out to Club members by e-mail
at least once a month to announce upcoming
events and programs.
When? -
The Club, in its current form, was "reborn" in August 2002
with a guest speaker dinner at the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan
with Prof. Gustav Ranis, the Director of the Yale Center for International
and Area Studies at the time.
Who? -
The Club welcomes all members of the Yale community (alumni,
students, and faculty of Yale University's 12 schools) currently
residing in Japan. With more than 350 members on its mailing
list, The Yale Club of Japan is the second largest overseas Yale Club
(after London).
The current leadership of the
Club is as follows:
