Refugee/Yale Alumni Cultural Dinner--Friday, May 13, 2011
Are you looking to broaden your knowledge of international issues and foreign culture? Are you willing to contribute to the well-being of a new American citizen?
The Yale Club of Chicago would like to provide you with this opportunity!
On Friday, May 13 at 6:30 pm, as part of the Yale Global Day of Service, we will pair refugees and Yale alumni dinner sponsors. Dinner will cost approximately $20 per person, $40 per alumni-refugee pair, and will take place at a Mediterranean/Middle Eastern/Persian food establishment located in Andersonville on the north side of Chicago. Expect to converse with refugees and help them acclimate to and navigate American society. You can give them interview and job search tips, help improve their English, or suggest anything that might help them adjust and achieve a happier, stable life in the USA.
