Henry H.L. Fan, J.P.

Henry Hung-Ling Fan is the Managing Director of the China Trust and Investment Corporation (CITIC) Pacific Limited. Born in Shanghai, he graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 1969 with an honors degree in economics and business management. He was called to the bar by Lincoln's Inn, England, and holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Beijing. He has over 20 years' experience in management and is a practicing barrister in Hong Kong.

Mr. Fan is a Deputy Chairman of Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd., and Director of Hong Kong Dragon Airlines Ltd. In addition, he is a non-executive director of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, and Deputy Chairman of the Takeovers and Mergers Panel. He is an active member of many influential policy bodies, including the Hong Kong-United States Business Council, the Economic Advisory Committee, the Services Promotion Strategy Group, the Standing Committee on Company Law Reform, the Advisory Committee on Corruption, the Selection Committee of the Admission of Talents Scheme, and the Council of the University of Hong Kong.

Mr. Fan sits on Yale's Development Board and is a member of the President's Council on International Activities. His daughter will graduate from Yale College this year and plans to attend the Yale Law School beginning in September.
