Ronnie Chan

Ronnie Chan is the Chairman of the Hang Lung Development Company, a group of Hong Kong-listed companies dealing in real estate and property investment, development and management. In addition, he oversees the Morningside/Springfield Group, which owns and manages industrial and service companies throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. He is also a director for Enron Corp., Motorola Inc. and Standard Chartered PLC.

Mr. Chan earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in biology at California State University and his M.B.A. from the University of Southern California, where he serves as a trustee. He serves Yale on the President's Council for International Activities and has many long-standing relationships with the University, including those with President Richard C. Levin, Dean Jeffrey E. Garten and Professor Helen F. Siu, to name but a few.

In the international arena, Mr. Chan sits on the governing boards of the World Economic Forum, the Asia Society and the East-West Center, and he is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. In Hong Kong, he chairs the Hong Kong-United States Business Council, the Executive Committee of the One Country Two Systems Research Institute, and the China Heritage Fund, and serves actively with the Hong Kong Asia Society and the Council of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
