This year's Yale Day of Service was held at the Hong Chi Association in the Pinehill Village, Tai Po. Hong Chi is a non-profit organization in Hong Kong dedicated to serving 7,000 people of all ages and all grades of intellectual disabilities and their families.

Po Toi Island Hike

The hike featured the island's small lighthouse, famous rock formations, such as the Buddha Hand Rock (佛手巖) and the Tortoise Climbing up the Mountain (靈龜上山), and ancient rock carvings, as well as fabulous seafood.

Cooperating with Chinese NGOs as Part of a Sustainability Strategy

The speaker was Mr. Anthony J. Spires, Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology and Associate Director of the Centre for Civil Society Studies at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.  He holds a PhD in Sociology from Yale University, where he also obtained an MPhil and MA degree in Sociology as well as an MA in East Asian Studies.

Black's Link to Repulse Bay Hike

The hike started near the Police Museum on Wan Chai Gap and featured lovely views of the south of the island.  It was a  8km hike and took 3-4 hours to reach Repulse Bay.

Invitational Sports Day

We're the champion this year, again!  This year, contest for the trophy is almost as tight as last year, when we tied with Chicago.  This year we were merely 3 points clear of the first runner-up Chicago.

Our victory was made possible by only dedicated, fit Yalies but also their children, whose desire to have fun and to win were exceptionally strong.

An Evening Under the Stars with Professor Jonathan Spence: "The Memory Palace of Matteo Ricci"

Sold Out all 7 tables on the lawn.  Professor Spence addressed us with stories spanning 400 years, from Yale today, back to Matteo Ricci days.  He spoke for over an hour, magically bringing back Yale memories.  When we had a show of hands, almost everyone had taken his class at Yale!
