YCSC Hollywood Bowl 2002

More than 75 Yalies, family and friends attended our Hollywood Bowl annual gala August 17, 2002. The evening kicked off at the volunteer cottage with cheese and wine appetizers, and then we moved to our picnic dinner.

After our picnic dinner, President Ophir Finkelthal spoke a few words leading as part of the Club Annual Meeting.

Ophir awarded Board member Harry Olivar with our annual service award for outstanding service on behalf of the Yale Club.  Then, we migrated over to the Bowl to watch the Rodgers and Hammerstein concert, complete with large-screen video of Oklahoma, Carousel, South Pacific, the King and I and the crowd favorite, The Sound of Music, complete with karaoke-style sing along.

At intermission, Yalies had more chances to chat.

Bowl symphony conductor and Yale grad John Mauceri then gave a special guest list backstage tour of the Bowl with about 15 members.

A great, fun evening! Thanks to John Mauceri for the tour, and congrats to Harry Olivar. Thanks to our event organizers Roberta Laurence, Louise Chen, Chris Hill, Ophir Finkelthal, John Lopez, and Kevin Winston.

Thanks to conductor and Yale alum John Mauceri for a great performance of "Rodgers and Hammerstein at the Movies" and our back stage tour!

We watch a clip from Oklahoma at the Hollywood Bowl performance.

Board Member Harry Olivar receives our annual service award for outstanding service to the Yale Club of Southern California. Congratulations Harry!
