Yale in Hollywood Summer Internship
Summer 2004
Our first Yale in Hollywood Summer Internship program launched this summer 2004. We worked with local alums to offer intern positions in Hollywood to fourteen Yale students. The internship program lets these current students on summer break get a break in working in the industry. They are working at a variety of production companies and agencies, from Endeavor to National Geographic. Thanks to Yale in Hollywood Internship Coordinator Aaron Kogan and the UCS' Joe Testani on campus for putting this excellent program together.

Aaron Kogan (second from right) gives some of the interns advice on
navigating Hollywood at a local coffee shop.
These internships are for currently enrolled Yale students (frosh-juniors) only who are interested in the film & entertainment industry here in Hollywood! Interested students should visit Yale's UCS web site for more info, or contact Aaron Kogan, the Internship Coordinator, at aaronkogan@hotmail.com.

This summer, I interned at
Intermedia Film, a film studio and development company. My daily
responsibilities consisted mostly of making copies of scripts and
shelving scripts in the library. I was also given a few projects, such
as reorganizing the coverage database. Any extra time I had was spent
reading scripts and writing coverage for them. I was also allowed to sit
in on development meetings with the creative executives and producer. It
was definitely a fun and exciting environment, since there were many
departments under one roof, such as physical production, music, finance,
and other production companies that Intermedia had deals with. I was
able to get a good feel for the industry simply by listening to and
watching all the people around me. |
