Skrovan shows clips of his new
Nader documentary
July 26, 2006
HOLLYWOOD HILLS - Yalie Steve Skrovan described his career path from comedy writer on Seinfeld to writer and then executive producer of Everybody Loves Raymond. He just finished a documentary about Ralph Nader that won praise at this year's Sundance Film Festival.
Steve was writer and
executive producer of the hit long-running comedy series Everybody Loves
Raymond, which won Emmys for Outstanding Comedy Series in 2005 and 2003. He
also has written for (and acted in) Seinfeld, drawing upon his years of
stand-up comedian experience.
His current project is "An Unreasonable Man," a documentary following the
career of consumer advocate Ralph Nader from wannabe presidential candidate
to public pariah.
Steve said he drew upon his comedy background to bring some humor to the documentary.
An Unreasonable Man received wide acclaim at this year's Sundance Film Festival, and was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize. The Hollywood Reporter praised the film, saying the filmmakers "smoothly integrate reams of material, dozens of insightful interviews as well as archival news footage and, without the use of a narrator, present a coherent, balanced picture of a lightning rod in the political arena." and "What makes this doc so successful is the willingness to present a wide variety of opinions of Nader, a man who inspires intense emotions on both sides of the aisle."
