Filmmaker Panel: Three Shorts

More than 50 attended Yale in Hollywood's first filmmaker panel at the trendy CineSpace bar/restaurant/screening room in Hollywood on April 28, 2003.

This mini-fest of 3 shorts included:

  • Mike Wollaeger's The Board Room: presented at HBO's Aspen Comedy Festival and Montreal's Comedy Festival in 2002 and the upcoming Murphy's Cat Laughs Comedy Festival in Ireland.
  • Vivian Umino's Captured: featured in the San Diego Asian Film Festival and the Asian Pacific American Film Festival in DC
  • Beau Bauman's and Jeff Wadlow's Tower of Babble: part of the set of films which won the 2002 Chrysler Million Dollar Film Festival

After the film screenings, Moderator David Steinberg (cowriter American Pie 2) asked several questions about filmmaking. Panelists described the ins and outs of filmmaking from budget and costs of production to using the film as a "calling card" in seeking new film projects.
