YCSC American Pie 2 talk

American Pie 2 talk with David Steinberg

Yalie David Steinberg '90 described his switch from law school and breaking into the biz at the kick off Yale in Hollywood event at the Jonathan Beach Club in Santa Monica November 13, 2002.

When David quit his East Coast law firm to become a film student at USC, his law school co-workers felt he was a hero for going the creative route.

After USC, Dave developed a script and got an agent. His agent got his first film, Slackers, sold. That paved the way for David to meet the American Pie producers at Universal, who asked him to write on American Pie 2.

A good industry crowd attended the talk, including several screenwriters, entertainment lawyers, and people from Sony, Fox, UCLA film school, and the LA Times.

The next Yale in Hollywood entertainment event planned is a panel discussion in February.
