Guest Speaker: Professor Leila Hudson
Associate Professor, Department of Near Eastern Studies at the University of Arizona

Professor Hudson has extensive knowledge of the peoples and countries of the Middle East. She has been active in teaching and developing courses in the history of the Middle East, Issues in Islamic Law and Society, and Nationalism and Islam. Her writings include numerous published articles and recently a book – Transforming Damascus: Space and Modernity in an Islamic City (2008). Leila regularly makes presentations at national conferences and local organizations, including a prior visit to our Yale Club in October 2005.

Her career in Middle Eastern scholarship began at Yale where Leila graduated in 1989 in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations. She continued at the University of Michigan adding a Masters degree in Anthropology, then earning her PhD in Anthropology and History at the University of Michigan.

The festivities begin at 9:45 AM


Cheer the Yale Bulldogs to victory over Harvard in the 126th playing of "The Game"!

Kick-off time is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. EST.
