YALE CLASS OF 1977 - 35TH REUNION - May 24-27, 2012
Only weeks remain!
Take advantage of the Class of 1977
35th Reunion Gift Challenge!
What?
The Class of 1977 is just 170 classmates away from its Alumni Fund participation goal of 432 donors!
To inspire the Class to raise its sights in honor of the reunion, for every gift made to the Alumni Fund between now and June 30th, an anonymous classmate will add a gift of equal amount to the 35th Reunion gift up to a total of $100,000.
Why?
Now more than ever, annual giving is a critical focus of the University's fundraising efforts. Annual giving through the Alumni Fund provides flexible and immediately expendable support for the University's core needs, especially financial aid.
Your Alumni Fund gift counts toward the 35th Reunion gift and now has double the impact.
How?
You can make a gift by filling out the enclosed contribution card, calling 800.395.7646, or going online at
www.yale.edu/giveYC.
Reunion Giving
Yale College classes of 1877 and 1892 made the first reunion gifts to the University. Not to be outdone, other classes soon took up the challenge. Today, the tradition of reunion giving inspires some alumni to make significant capital commitments beyond regular Alumni Fund gifts, strengthens alumni participation in giving, and encourages ongoing annual giving. Reunion campaigns account for a significant portion of cash received by the University each year, providing essential endowment and current use support.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CLASS DUES AND GIFTS TO THE YALE ALUMNI FUND?
Class dues support the activities of our Class and our subscriptions to the Yale Alumni Magazine, whereas, the annual donations to the Yale Alumni Fund are used to address the pressing needs of the University and directly benefit current students.
We all get a lot of solicitations, but we hope that you will consider contributing to these two appeals in particular.
