An Invitation from Henry Higdon
We are pleased to announce and officially invite all teammates to a 50th reunion of the 1959 Yale undefeated freshman football team on the weekend of November 7 in New Haven (Yale vs. Brown).
I am also enclosing a preliminary agenda, which has received input from many different classmates. It most likely will be fine tuned before the weekend.
Wives are cordially invited, especially inasmuch as we know how thrilled they will be to hear the thousands of stories, and be regaled by the many different versions of Dave Weinstein’s 80-yard draw play which was the key to our fourth-quarter comeback win over the Harvard frosh! At the same time, the wives may enjoy remaining at home without their husbands! Without or without, all are welcome.
At this point, it appears early indications are that most teammates will want to be at the Marriott Hotel.
At a later date, we will be in touch with individuals to most likely ask them to ask others to attend so that we can strive for 100% turnout. Please encourage others to attend and let us know if you can provide us with addresses, phone numbers, or email addresses for those on the attached list for whom we do not have contact information.
For those who have not been back to the Yale Bowl recently, the $30 million renovation has made it a truly magnificent stadium, and tremendously enhanced with the Kenney Center and Jensen Plaza, additions about which members of the 1959 team can be especially proud.
I look forward to seeing everyone the weekend of November 7.
