The Y1957-L mailing list is an e-mail discussion group
that's been established by the Association of Yale Alumni
for the sole use of the Yale College Class of 1957. You can
discuss anything here, as long as general courtesy and
mildness of statement is maintained, but the prime focus
should be on topics that might be of interest to your
classmates generally.
Here's how you go about subscribing to the Y1957-L list:
Go to http://www.aya.yale.edu/classes/listserv.htm and fill out the form there. You should get a Welcome to
the Y1957-L mailing list! message in response. Save this
message! It contains important information, such as your
password and many options available to you.
Once you have received the welcome message, you are a
member of the Y1957-L mailing list. From then on, you'll
receive all messages posted to the list by classmates who
are also members of the list.
If you want to post your own message to the Y1957-L list,
just send it to Y1957-L@ayalists.
yale.edu. But remember that any message posted to this
address goes to all members of the Y1957-L mailing list. In
particular, if you reply to a message from the Y1957-L
mailing list (no matter who the message is "From"), your
reply will automatically go to all members of the list. To
reply to just the sender of the original message, replace
the Y1957-L address with the sender's e-mail address.
